Hey Gabe, sorry to hear you have had a bit of a rough time lately. That's a very brave job you are doing. Doesnt sound at all safe though that the shifts are 12hrs when your job is saving peoples lives! You guys must be exhausted... Facial hair looks cool man. Hope you had a great christmas mate.

Hey Gabe, have you had your blood iron levels checked out? Maybe you being really tired after your surgery was loss of blood and then if you're fighting low iron levels it could have been a double whammy. I experienced that myself after my hysto as well but I'm also constantly fighting low iron levels. Sounds like your job can be pretty mentally exhausting too. That would be a cool job though!
