  • Actually, in the UK they didn't have a reverse gear so that they could be classed as a three-wheeled motorcycle to avoid automobile legislation and taxation.

Some things are different in America than other parts of the world. Like, say, everything!! Granted in this case it's England that was being different. But still!

  • Why episode is that from

  • Clarkson talking "Previously-Enjoyed-Bull-Food" again, bubble cars DID have reverse. I have braked exceptionally hard in an emergency in my bubble car and it DID NOT tip on its face, the weight of the engine in the back ensures it does not. Gear selection is as easy as any car and faster than many! In the 50s and 60s a bubble car WAS good for getting a girlfriend, much better than nothing, or a scooter on a rainy day. If he does not like it then fair enough, but he should not tell lies.

  • He invented the no reverse gear story for TV

  • That's nonsense Jeremey, the Isetta DOES have a reverse gear, in any case if you weren't such a lard-arse you'd be able to fit out of the sunroof!

  • Love the Brazil theme music.
