@digipotty37 "they" didn't write "fallen phoenix" there, and they didn't expect Pang Tong to come, in fact, they didn't even recognize him as Pang Tong. "fallen phoenix" happens to be the name of the place, and who knows who wrote it.

Is it a Coincidence that most of the military strategists are Daoists. Pang Tong has a Daoist name, I think Zhuge LIang was trained as a Daoist as well (Wuo Long- Sleeping Dragon).

@KomonoDragon no your think of Sun Quan, originally Pang Tong wanted to serve Sun Quan, Zhuge Liang wrote him a reccommendation letter but Pang Tong refused to use such a item wanting to get his position based on his own merit, Sun Quan however thought he was to ugly and turned him away, Pang Tong then went to Liu Bei who also thought he was to ugly and gave him a minor position. For a while Pang Tong simply did nothing till Liu Bei sent Zhang Fei to sort him out.

@Slixer I read somewhere, I forgot but didn't Cao Cao call him ugly which is why Pang Tong decided to defect to Shu? Might be wrong ^^

@Titan9999 Liu Bei did the same thing, he put Pang Tong to work as a minor administrator due to his ugliness. The Irony was Cao Cao was the only one who didn't judge him on his appearence and believed in him from the start >.> but Pang Tong was working for him as part of a plot at Chi Bi.

Pang Tong was supposed to be ugly. In fact, at first Pang Tong went to see Sun Quan first. But Sun Quan wouldn't use him because of Pang Tong's appearance.
