Scores of poor patients detained in hospitals for failure to pay bills celebrated their surprise freedom today after Medical services minister Anyang Nyongo ordered their release. The minister who toured Kenyatta hospital here in Nairobi also directed that bodies being held for more than three weeks in the mortuary for non-payement of bills be released to relatives.

  • good my freind.

  • COMPULSORY health insurance is needed for everyone..

  • Sometimes inabidi wapewe fish instead ya kufunzwa namna ya kufish!!! Weldone Prof

  • How do you teach them how to fish in this case - be logical.

Give credit where it is due. Professor has done a commendable job.

  • I think its time for kenyan women to limit their uterusal usage.I wish a law like in China is implemented3 kids limit because the population is exploding to unsustainable levels.10million in 10 years WTF??? has kenyans turned into pigs and started farrowing?!

  • You're not being realistic--you know that their husbands won't listen to anything like that-- if they can't even wear a condom when they have HIV tell me how else they can make any of those requests. As long as there is dowry, the man will always rule. 1st thing i would say is stop the damn dowry !! Doesn't serve anybody any good--you'll get the dowry and a dead daughter!

  • Probably a good time to highlight the urgency at which the Kenyan public needs to practice aggressive birth control and family planning. What do you think are the prospects for these kids if their parent can't even afford to get them out of the hospital?

  • Mimba niya miezi tisa, Its not an emergency. Kenyans should be waned of free things, this is one of the reasons why we ar a poor nation!! Where are the impregnaters? You cannot enjoy the goodies and run away when the baby is due.

  • For once the bearded one has done a commendable thing, I share in the joy of those women. But please wamama, mpange uzazi hii maneno ya kuzaa zaa ovyo na hamna pesa muwache. Tell your husbands to use a condom or get a vasectomy.
