In a recent online poll conducted by Time Magazine, The Daily Show's Jon Stewart has been selected as America's Most Trusted Newscaster, post-Cronkite.

1. The Daily Show is NOT a News Show. It's a Comedy Show.
2. This further solidifies that many people actually go to the Daily Show for their source of news.

The dumbing down of America for sure. I like Stewart, witty guy. But he's a comedian! I can see people enjoying his political satire but the most trusted newscaster?  With all due respect, this is how Obama got elected. Uninformed and intellectually lazy couch potatoes!

Sure Jon Stewart is a comedian, but his political views, factual points and ESPECIALLY calling out other news casters and channels for their wrongfully used and misleading videos, reports and the like, make him a spot-on, no b/s, straightforward man. His way of giving news is unorthodox but nonetheless, truthful and to the point, as well as spoken like he is another citizen among us all.

When a comedian wins most trusted newscaster, it shows what a joke the "real" newscasters are. Is this the dumbing down of America? No, it's the dumbing down of the media and people are calling them on it. Americans aren't the brightest people on earth but they sure as shit aren't as dumb as the media owners think they are.
