Violinski's fourth single, with Mike de Albuquerque singing lead vocals. This almost became their second hit (after 'Clog Dance'), as it was chosen as Simon Bates' Record of the Week and it recieved a lot of airplay, but it suffered with a financial crisis at Jet Records and unfortunately failed to chart. This song was included on the LP 'Stop Cloning About', but I took this from the 'Best Of' CD.

By the way, I get a bit fed up of people saying "most of ELO were in Violinski" and "Jeff Lynne wrote and produced most of their music", so I might as well clear all this up:

- Only two former ELO members - Mik Kaminski and Mike de Albuquerque - were in Violinski (at one point, Bob Brady from Wizzard was in the line-up). Mike de Albuquerque wasn't an original member, he actually joined after the original guitarist Barry 'Baz' Dunnery (formaly with the Cumbrian doom-rock band Necromandus) left around the time the album No Cause For Alarm was being recorded.

- Most of their songs were written by John Marcangelo (e.g. 'Clog Dance') and John Hodgson (e.g. 'Save Me') with some songs written by Mik Kaminski (e.g. 'Time to Live') and Mike de Albuquerque (e.g. 'Silent Love'). No cover songs or anything written from outside the band!

- Also, they produced their own music - Jeff Lynne had virtually nothing to do with Violinski.

  • I wrote this walking around the English Garden in Munich-it is dedicated to Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys

  • I was so glad to find the hits album. After years with a saved search on ebay, I'd given up hope of getting my hands on a copy of Cloning.

Now if only that Tandy Morgan album were...oh, wait it is. I think I'm liking this Internet thing.
