http://www.cpgear.com Almost 50 years since its debut in the early 60s, the Canadian 64 pattern or Jump Ruck is still a favourite amongst the troops. With original 64 pattern frames becoming scarcer and scarcer, we wanted to develop a ruck bag that would work with either the original 64 pattern aluminum frame, or the more readily available US ALICE frame. Not wanting to stop with 64 and ALICE frame compatibility, several key modifications and improvements were made to the bag itself:
Larger exterior pockets. Each of the 3 exterior pockets is approximately 5L in volume and are capable of holding a 200 round C9 or M249 SAW ammo drum, with room to spare. The pockets also have an adjustable snow collar to ensure that the contents dont slip out from under the lid.
Floating Top Lid. The Gen III 64 pack has a top lid that is adjustable on both the front and back so as to allow for significant expansion if the bag has to be overloaded. The top lid features an interior and exterior sleeve pocket which is great for stowing items such as maps, gloves, boonie hat, or other items you need ready access to.
Internal Snow Collar. In addition to the floating top lid, the adjustable snow collar allows the contents of the main bag to be stowed securely, and allows for significant expansion (20 litres) of the bag if overloading becomes necessary.
High and Low Mounting Positions. The Gen III 64 pack is designed so that it can be either mounted in the traditional low position with the sleeping bag valise carried above the rucksack, or in the high position, similar to the 82 pattern ruck with the sleeping bag beneath the rucksack bag. For CF members in units where use of the 82 pattern ruck is mandatory, the high mount position allows for a more uniform appearance to pass under the Sergeant Major radar screen, whilst still using the 64 pattern frame and ending the need to jerry rig 82 pattern bags to 64 pattern frames.
The bag measures 38 cm tall x 30 cm wide x 24 cm deep and has a total approximate volume of 45 litres and can be expanded to 65 litres.
Made in Canada of Cordura nylon, mil-spec webbing and hardware. Backed by our 5 year warranty.
The Gen III 64 ruck may be purchased separately, or together with the Gen III Shoulder Straps, Padded Back, Panel, and Waistbelt.

  • does this rucksack come with the 64 pattern frame?

  • @facemesser No, this doesn't come with the 64 pattern frame.

  • Thanks for the comments. Please be aware that the Gen III 64 comes in 2 different configurations; fixed pocket, and a MOLLE - PALS based version.

  • Excellent kit mounted on the P64 frame. Got this and their P64 pack.

  • If you guys do another vid on this pack, please show the suspension setup. A ruck is only as good as it's suspension straps. Thanks.

  • just an idea; am sure if you made the 3 extrenal pockets removable or molle it would be a great option to have i don't know how much that would add to cost. but you could put a med kit on one or a hyration bladder in the middle ect.. just more to customize and persoanlize which you know is key i'd go for the molle but not that molle with alice clips. button is best. plus you have to compete with opsgear. don't know what am talking about really, just a thought thou
