1. Phillies never offered him a contract

2. Nats are in 3rd place, not last, and only 2.5 back in wildcard

3. He probobly wanted to go to a young underdog team, some people can't get satisfaction from being on a team that is guaranteed to win the pennant. Anything less than winning a world series this year would be a complete fail for phils, I think JW wanted a challenge

4. In a few years the Nats will be in first place and the Phils will be an irrelevent team, JW is smart enough to see that

Jayson is a kickass fielder and hitter but his attitude toward the fans and the game is very annoying and i dont want him back in 2011, i'd rather have Dom Brown out there in 2011
