I've discovered what causes the blocks to not appear! When you have 00 lives, the blocks just don't appear for some reason. I have had this glitch happen ONLY when I have 00 lives. Notice how you have 00 lives in this run.

I have never done the glitch at 2:52 on purpose, it kills me 90% of the time. I never knew about #1, #4, I kinda knew #5, it happened and I was all like "Ok... I'll take it, I have Item-3!"

1:04 happened to me before when I was playing against metal man. I shot right before metal man's blade hit me and mega man blew up and looked like bubble man does at 1:05 then my shot hit metal man and mega man's parts(whatever those balls are called when you die) flew back together and it gave me the win. Also mega man wasn't glitchy like he was in this video.

I know of a glitch on the iPod version.
On Wily Stage 1, at the boss of the level, jump right and you fight a robot master again in a glitchy area. Kill yourself and you gain instant access to the Robot Rematches room.

do you lose one life actually when you've been defeated by the boss but style win ?
Flashman power still visible and the Fan fiend disaperance are common, I've seen tehm a couple of times when I played this game.

Does the disappearing/reappearing block glitch perhaps have any connection with sprite limitations? In SMB1, the springboard pulls disappearing acts like that fairly often, if too many enemies happen to be on screen when it should appear. Also seems to happen with other platforms in SMB1 as well, though I think a situation where that can occur is rarer, outside of hacks anyway.
And the fan enemy disappearing happens to me pretty much every time I play. I can't even prevent it, heh.

Yeah, it probably does have to do with the NES's sprite limitations. I've noticed sprites disappearing in MM2 more than a few times, especially when using Wood Man's weapon.
