Fine Arts presents a lecture by Visiting Critic in Residence Rhea Anastas. Art historian, curator and critic Anastas co-edited the books Dan Graham: Works 1965-2000 and Witness to Her Art: Art and Writings by Adrian Piper, Mona Hatoum, Cady Noland, Jenny Holzer, Kara Walker, Daniela Rossell and Eau de Cologne. She is working on a book about Andrea Fraser's Unititled (2003).

Her lecture "Four Kinds of Pragmatism," considers recently exhibited works by Andrea Fraser, Louise Lawler, Josephine Pryde, R.H. Quaytman, and projects at Orchard, each pointing to functioning relations between art and the social, and the difficulty of this today.

The lecture is in partnership with Santa Monica College Dept of Art, sponsored by SMC Associates
