A small video showing how to measure g forces using a WiiMote connected via bluetooth to any Java capable computer system.

The program itself is called "GiiForce" and is written by me. You can download it at the previously written URL.

Btw: ignore the speed display in the program. This was a test version where I tried to calculate the speed which is not yet working very good ;)

  • On Board Diagnosis..

A system for controlling vital data of an engine.

  • x axis would be like roll or like it was hands of a clock

  • What bt stack did you use on your windows pc

ok, so i should delete all wii mote connections, and launch your program, and then press 1 and 2?

  • The x axis is when turning left or right, the Y axis is backward or forward.

If you point the wiimote down there would be 1g on the Y axis.

  • Nope, it does also run on my Windows PC.

Its important that you do not connect your wiimote before starting the program! Delete the connection and start the program. The program itself will create the connection

  • whats obd

  • what direction is x and y

would x be like i attached a rocket strait onto the expansion port, and set it of, that would x, y, or z

say that i atached rockets to the batter area, poiting down, where the ir cam and expansion port is horizontal, wat axis would that be

    thanks

if i ever get it to reconize my wii mote, i will try it

  • It still does not work

I deleted the connection, started your software, then added a new connection, and then connected my wiimote, and your software is still trying to find a wiimote

could it be that your software only supports mac bt stacks?

I have windows xp, if that helps

  • Yes, it does output maximum Gs but only on X and Y axis. So if your object with the wiimote falls in a wrong direction, the G forces might not be recognised correctly.

  • Normally it should work with almost all BT stacks except the basic WinSocks implementation.

But that you have already connected your WiiMote might be a problem. Try disconnecting it and removing the device from the list of known devices in your BT environment.

Then start my program and try to connect the wiimote.

There may be some problems when the wiimote connection is already used. I'll consider this and see if I can find a workaround :)
