You hit the nail on the head with one word - "deny." I would extend it to the word "denial," as in a state of denial. The GOP just didn't get it, and hasn't for years.
I think Obama is a good choice for Democrats. but I also think that they could have run Forest Gump against McCain and won.
At any rate, at least Buffy the Moose Slayer is safely back in Alaska, where she can watch Putin, as he flys about her airspace.
BTW, is Alaska a continent, or is it a parallel universe?

Schwarzenegger says "She'll be ready", yet it may be a pumped-up claim: in one month her preparedness rating has dropped 9%. That's like Arnold pumping iron for 4 weeks, then being voted as 9% more flabby-- not very flattering.
As some suggest, she can learn on the job.
"None of us predicted McCain's illness, or this new war with 30 of our former allies, but doggoneit, we said we'd fight for you, and we jolly well meant we would send you to die while we sat in our armchairs! God bless!"
