  • TITLE FAIL: I expected to see actual kumite ... Or is it my own command of English language??

  • This is also a good illustration of how to practice kumite. The junior just keeps doing his thing and lets Yamamoto work on his timing and distance (as if he needed it back then). Too often, outside of Japan, every free kumite session descends into a competition, which is not ideal for learning. This is also a great way to warm up before training. 10 minutes of this before stretching is ideal.

  • I feel bad they had to leave the JKA. Dojo politics really sucks. At least the old masters, Kanazawa (SKIF), Okazaki (ISKF) and Ochi (JKA) still get together to do seminars....

  • Excellent- don't need flashy waza, never get tired of correct basics!

  • Yamamoto. The best karate fighter of the world.

  • he is so fast!
