The only thing I can think is weight distribution issues... but you'd get the benefits of a longer wheelbase, as well as a small crumple zone. And, the weight distribution issues could be alleviated by using the nose to hold batteries.
Very nice design. Don't worry about the safety people. Those people you will never get out of their tanks until gas is 10 dollars a gallon. Much more safe than a motorcycle. I will be watching with interest to see what kind of range or watt hours per mile you achieve.

It's a nice effort, but EVs aren't ready for prime time. If you did the same thing with an ICE you net similar benefits in efficiency, but you'd save a bundle since putting a motorcycle or scooter motor in your vehicle would be MUCH cheaper and you'd get 125 mpg ro more. When there is a quantum leap in battery tech, then maybe the EV will have a shot. Untill then....it's all kind of silly.

The forward occupant is the crash absorber for the driver?
