    Early tech? Hundreds of years? 3D printing has been around for decades, recent innovations are fantastic however. You'll see advanced consumer multi-material printer in less than 10 years, not hundreds. Also, the prices are already becoming affordable for the normal guy, not a rich one.

    Just check out a 3D printing library like thingiverse com to see how quickly 3D printing is exploding amongst normal people.
