This is a kind of sequel of my "Here Comes the Sun" video. Though this time it's not The Beatles but The Rolling Stones performing a favourite song of mine - "She's a Rainbow" - since Rita Hayworth was not just as radiant as the sun or as mysterious as the moon, but with her various hair colours and extravagant outfits also as colourful as a beautiful rainbow :-)

I admit that I usually prefer classy black & white material but I've always wanted to show Rita in all her Technicolor glory.

And THIS is what I call colour ;-P

  • Beautiful, glorious, a feast to my eyes. This is sublime, Ellen! Rita was made for colour, she's a technicolor dream! And this is not an easy song to vid, so the fact that you made this so magical and beautiful is a true tribute to your talent. Thanks!!!

  • @poeticjustice2345 Oh, dear, thank you! And you are right, the song wasn't easy to edit but I just had to choose it because it's so vibrant and exuberant just like Rita's beauty! :-)

  • I LOVED this!!!! A pefect matching of clips and music. I not only love Rita, I love the Stones so this was perfect for me. And, as though you were psychic, I've been re-obsessed with the film Xanadu, the remake of Cover Girl WITH Gene Kelly. His last film role. So I adored this, thank you SO much. Beautifully rendered, you really captured how dazzling she was. The song was written about Marianne Faithfull, coming in colours....ooh naughty! love ya! <333

  • @daisynation Thank you so much for your lovely comment! It pleases me that you enjoyed the combo of Rita and The Rolling Stones! And thanks for telling me that the song was originally written for Marianne. I didn't know that ;-)

  • Maureen O'Hara, Arlene Dahl and Esther Williams were all called The Queen of Technicolor, but when you look at Rita in her colour films, she was the real. Not only was she absolutely radiant in colour, but you couldn't quite believe just how beautiful she was, even without the flattering lighting of black and white. Every cameraman's dream? I think so. Wonderful video Ellen!! Perfect song for Rita!!

  • @MonroeSmile Thank you Claudia! Ever since you see Rita in Technicolor you know what movie magic truly is about, hehe!
