I think it's fair to say that almost every musician is inspired by other ones, it's just a matter of what they make of it.

I think it sucks that people are always comparing bands as the beginning and main point of reference, in most cases it's limiting and unhelpful to start from there as you did, no offence but I didn't see anyone tying you up and slapping you in the face, insisting that this band are like Beck or Nirvana so please be better than that. BH Surfers are their own band. They are not Nirvana, they are not Beck. BH Surfers are BH Surfers. Hell, you can say that BH was inspired by other bands, but this song is original and gives me a feeling all it's own.
