Sounds like a rod bearing went on ya. You can hear the crank squealing in protest. Better off with a pre 77 motor anyways, because all of the 77 and later had webbed mains. They like to fly apart a high rpm. But they do make for a nice explosion video if they are not in the car. Hope you have her back up and running.

The old MacGyver approach, eh? Sounds good by me. Thanks.

thank god .. one less piece of shit 307 on the road. 307's are the worst motors ever made, oil leaking oil burning gutless sons of a whores.

@Leafsrule016 Hey, don't worry about it faggot Pruis owner. I took the 307 out and replaced it with a leaded gas 1968 Olds 350 getting 8 MPG. Getting ready to build another one with a 1967 330. Besdies, my gas guzzling engines emit less greenhouse gases, took less fossil fuels to make, and don't run on batteries. So go hug your tree, before your Pruis makes the hole in the ozone layer bigger and the UV rays burn the tree up

Was it the lifters cause mine sounded pretty dead on to what was going on here i have the engine torn down not sure if i wanna go 350 or find a 330.

@marineguy46383 Na it was a rod knock it was only running on 7 cyl before I pulled the engine. I had a 350 olds in this car after the 307. Ran great, fun motor but now I have a 330 sitting in my garage. It's the high cr one 10.25:1 with 320 hp and 360 ft lbs. Might have around 370 hp when it finds it's way into another delta

I see you've got some extra gauges hooked up there. Maybe you could give me a tip?
I'm trying to fit a Sunpro coolant/oil/battery gauge cluster onto my Olds 307, but I'm stuck. The sensor for the coolant gauge screws into the manifold okay but it doesn't form a tight enough seal, so water leaks out. Is there some sort of adaptor I could use or am I just ignorant?
Thanks in advance if you can give me advice.

Just go to Home Depot and buy Teflon tape. It's a white tape that wraps around the threads and seals up those small peaky leaks. If it's an electrical gauge, don't use too much becuase the sending unit is grounded thru the threads
