  • O man! Thanks I know Russian enough to listen to this interesting video. Very good TV program - this is the best one for me, as I really admire sensei Yahara. OSS.

  • @buffmedic01 Sambo was a product of a very talented person, but it's not an established school. USSR forbade anything that actually worked - karate included - so the tradition, if there ever was one, was lost. Japanese, on the other hand, were better at preserving their traditions. Not ideal, but better than most. So why not go back to the roots, even if you're Russian?

Karate incredibly dated... any supporting arguments?

  • 動きにキレがあっていいね!!

  • @buffmedic01 Not sure if you got my message. But it's typical, that when someone has no arguments left he tries to "challenge" someone else to convince him. What exactly lets you believe that I do karate? All I say is that it's the artist, not the art (your citation is wrong). PS. I don't like McDojos and I doubt that it's worth a visit, especially when the Dojo leader didn't understand the meaning of martial arts. Go on blaming the "weak" systems and praising yours. Some day you will understand

  • @xaven1978 Also if you feel like im an internet warrior. I live in Sarasota Florida where I teach. You can come to my school and challenge me. Bring a camera so you can show people how little I know. We can even do just standup if you would like. You can show me how effective your karate is.

  • @xaven1978 I actually dont do sambo. I grew up doing Judo and Muay Thai. I began learning Brazilian Jui Jitsu about 10 years ago. I acutally have respect for Sambo as a system still. I have learned some sambo and it is basically Judo with strikes. Traditional Karate is increadibly dated. Sambo is a better and more complete system. I dont know why Russians would learn something like karate when Sambo is the native system. "its the arts not the art" is an excuse for inferior styles.

  • @buffmedic01 But now I see, you go on Youtube to every martial art like TKD, Karate etc. to comment that Sambo is the greatest, best etc. This is really poor and it shows that you're an internet warrior with no idea about martial art systems in general :( Sambo is a good system, hands down. But it's just Judo / Jiu Jitsu / Karate with a new name. So blaming other systems blames your non-unique Sambo. Think about it.

  • @buffmedic01 Haha. Ok, this is your opinion as layperson. Good luck with that. Just fyi: It's the artist, not the art.

  • @xaven1978 Sambo will in general create better fighters than karate. It is more practical and covers the full spectrum of fighting (striking, grappling (throws and ground game). In general sambo will create better fighters in less time than karate.

  • @buffmedic01 Because an expert wouldn't talk about any "better" system, ever.

  • Why would russians waste their time with this gay karate when they have sambo which is a much better fighting system?
