checking JBR's Vintage PAF replica Humbuckers pickup

this is a comparison between 2 original Gibson Vintage Instruments.. an SG les paul '66 (single P-90 ) & SG '68 ( double P-90 ) Versus 2 moderns one.. a Paul Reed Smith PRS Mc Carthy ( alnico V unoriented ) & SG '74 ( alnico IV ) both with JBR PAF replica humbuckers .. everything played on an old Fender Twin..

  • the PRS have an alnico V unoriented .. the sg ones are in AlNiCo IV .. both of them are a vintage replica alloy..

  • PRS to me is still the new kid on the block.Showing my age but Gibson has a bite that no other co. can copy.

  • subtitles maybe???

  • @TonyBurke100 And I'm pretty sure on that, I've borrowed my brothers ('66) and the tones are just incredible as is sustain w/o being humbuckers. Incredible for a 40 + year old guitar.

  • @tonossordos I think you are correct, it really kicks arse.

  • The '66 blows 'em all away!

  • i pick door number one.

  • @Finom1 Nothing special, it is said that the PRS has a very dry sound, and not really good as well, compared to the Sg's.

  • Could someone be so kind as to translate what is being said in this great video?

We need more videos like this!!!

    Great pickups!!!

  • does anyone knows the difference of a2 p90 to a5 p90 not the strength[i know its the a5] but the ''taste''in sound...which is more dry and rude?

  • The SG 1974 AINICo IV sounds fantastic. We need to see more videos.

    Great work.
