@puck30 no curse pellico he convinced wirtz that it would cost over 10 million dollars to move the organ across the street! But he has played electri organ most of his career and he says pipe organs dont respond as fast

I'm so glad to have heard Al Melgard, the first to play THE LARGEST PIPE ORGAN IN THE WORLD, no one has come closer to his mastery, andwith a minus one finger. Thak goodness I heard him play and have two of his old LP's. Wonderyul and a crime to this demanteling.
In Europe, they perserve the past for the new ones to see/hear. Here in America, we tear down history and build ? ? ? ? All at a huge human loss to all.

clever ending to part 2. are you a reality tv editor?

The biggest shame about moving to these new arenas are the fact that in 20 years, they'll rebuild them too. Look at New Jersey. Moved to the Prudential Centre after only 2.5 decades at Continental Airlines arena. It's ridiculous. Arena's won't become classics if they only last for 20 years. Where are the memories?

@Marshall7302 Not all the pipework nor all the chests/parts were destroyed in the fire. Some ranks including one of the huge high-pressure Tubas went to the pizza parlor that was in Vegas for awhile...A gentleman in the Lake Geneva, WI area is putting together quite a remarkable instrument, all his shades are from Chicago Stadium, he has a Tibia Clausa from the Stadium and a few other parts as I remember.

@puck30 The pipe work and chests were distroyed in a fire at the warehouse it was stored in. The organ console has been digitally converted to sindine actions and is currently installed in Las Vegas At Phil Maloofs residence running a 3 manual several rank Barton. He also has in his house a 4 manual Kimball and a 5 manual Kimball as well as a 2 manual Wurlitzer. The 5 manual kimball is working fully.

New Mexico - Phil Maloof, formerly of New Mexico, has the console. It's installed in his Las Vegas home, playing some Barton pipes.

so sorry to see that this instrument is gone and later destroyed. I love the CD I have of this organ.
They really should've installed the Barton in the United Center.

Some of it survived, I read that part of it was destroyed in a fire. But the console survived and somebody in New Mexico has it. Still really sad. Curse Old Man Wirtz.
