1. NCAA rules say -player may use any part of his body to try and bring the ball under his control 2. Shevin Wiggins admits kicking the ball - trying to bring it up to HIS hands to catch it. 3. Wiggins had no idea a NU reciever would be behind him-Matt Davisons route took him to the other side of the field. 4. In order for the play/kick to be illegal, the official would have to be certain that the player was intentionally kicking the ball to a teammate

I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and now in my mid 40's. I have seen and attended many great games but NOTHING absolutely NOTHING can match the drama of this game!!! My wife and I still get a thrill even talking about what took place that night. One important note. There was a black out of the local coverage for a couple of minutes during the game and a spectacular one handed grab by Bobby Newcome that added to the Drama.  For us you posted the best game ever. You enriched our lives!

Being a die hard Husker fan, I was ticked that I couldn't get this game on t.v. But as soon as it looked like Mizzou was gonna' upset my Huskers, ABC broke in to show the final two minutes. I was sweating bullets, to say the least. When Davidson caught that pass off the Wiggins kick, I about lost my mind! What a sweet way for Osborne to go out, NATIONAL CHAMPS !!!

Hands down luckiest play I've ever seen, but good teams make their own luck. What a tough, tough loss for Missouri. But it all started when on 1st down Missouri gave up a huge pass. Next play Nebraska has ball at Missouri 40 with :55 seconds left.

I love when they pooch it down to the 1 and we drive 99 yards down their throat :o)

I was at this game, and left when Missouri got their last first down with 2:00 left, thinking it was all over. I missed the catch at the end, and as a Husker fan was very upset at myself for leaving early. As the years have gone by, though, it's made for a more interesting story than if I had stayed. Besides, I had taped the game and watched what I missed when I got back home.

Excellent video...great memory. I was a 17 year old kid at the time of this game and had completely given up on it. lol...I tore my living room apart when Davison caught that pass. If I remember correctly, I remember being upset because the ABC broadcast missed the Ahman Green run preceeding the game winning score. Great memories of life as a kid and a Husker fan. Thanks for posting.
