I am having several problems with my new 500X with the GU-INS controller
- 1 ESC (motor 1) and boom gets hot (40-50 degC) after a few minutes after connecting the battery, even if the motors are not being run. The other 3 booms are cool to the touch.
-All motors start the same after connecting the battery, but after a few mins, No.1 starts to drop in rpm and later stops at a given throttle setting. Later the same happens to another motor (usually No.2) and so on and it takes a higher and higher throttle setting to get the No.1 and No.2 motor to start turning.
If disconnect and connect the battery again after a few mins, the motors start smooth, and after a min or two, the problem repeats itself.
-The problem also shows when running the motors without props, but is far worse and occurs in a shorter time when the props are mounted.
-I have tried resetting and calibrating the ESC's as pr. the manual, but it does not seem to make any difference.
-Tried resetting all 4 together via the GU-INS, and tried one and one induvidually. I get the correct tones and all seems well.
-Gain set to 0% when calibrating.
-The motors/ ESC are in the correct position, turning in the right direction (cw/ ccw) and is connected to the appropriate poorts in the controller (1-4).
-Yaw/ pitch and roll input from the radio works in the correct manner when hand testing and the gyros work in the right direction.
-The flight modes works correct as indicated by the LED's
-Problem is identical in the manual mode and the balance mode.
I am having a hard time figuring out what is wrong. 1 ESC gets hot, but the problem of irratic RPM applys to all 4, but 2 are worse then the others.
Can 1 faulty ESC cause problems for the controller and then the other 3 ESC's?
Or am I having a problem with the controller as well as (at least) 1 ESC?
Please take a look at the video with captions.
Help will be greately appreciated :)
have u solve the problem after replacing a new ESC? I have same issue with my esc, one is hot and the other 3 are cool...I have done a flight test but unfortunately crash, when it start to hover above 1/2 inch, suddenly it flips to one side and crash 1 prop...I tried to search solution and fix it before 2nd test flight...anyone have this kind of problem, pls let me know how you solve it...many thanks

i'm getting a similar issue with my 500x. on some occasions motor 1 will stop working all together on other occasions it takes longer or shorter to get up to speed. i believe the heat is pry because the others are working harder to compensate.
after much experimenting i have decided the issue is the speed controller. all 4 motors seem to be fine. i'm ordering a new ESC for motor one in hopes that that fixes the issue. i'll let you know if that solves the issue.
