@deadriy German-speaking places (Germany, Austria, ect) have an old pagan tradition that's survived into the present day where Krampus (local demons) assist Santa by kidnapping naughty children. Today dudes will dress up as Krampus and run around in the street beating the adults with switches taken from trees. Gotta hand it to the Germans to come up with a holiday that combines Christmas with S&M.
