2 of 2: In this High definition video I'm reviewing two excellent Thiers Issard straight razors. The 5/8 limited edition silverwing II with ramshorn scales and the 6/8 "amourette", a snakewood scaled beauty I got for fathersday. Some up close beauty shots of these fine razors and some background information is in the review.

Str8 razor shaving is all about sharpness and steel. It's also to best and most comfortable way to shave smoothly, definitely a man's thing. It can be the cheapest way too if you don't go overboard on high quality razors.

Too bad people nowadays have more interest in quick, expensive and irritating shaves (gilette andsoforth) than in a relaxing quality shave with a str8. Here's my 2 cents to get you on board of str8 shaving.

table of contents.
part 1:
- introduction to the 2 razors
- history on Thiers Issard and Pierre Thiers
- C135 carbonsong steel and it's qualities (Rc 65, edge retention)
- polishing of the blade
- ramshorn scales look and feel
- full hollow ground blade (with beauty shot)
- french tip, french nose, french head and it's cutting ability
- str8 razor sizes, 5/8 for the silverwing, and their abilities.

part 2:
- the box for the limited edition silverwing (nr 30 of 300)
- oiling the blade to prevent rust formation, keep it sharp
- weight, grip and ergonomics
- the amourette vs the silverwing
- snakewood up and close
- fox and rooster artwork
- steel origin
- box and sheaths
- straight razor shaving sites

  • Beautiful Straight Razors! =0]

  • @tornmask thanks, yes they are. I love shaving with them

  • Hi! Where did you get the razor stands. They are very nice!

  • @260191894 I got them from a webshop koordenwinkel.eu

  • Wow, the snakewood one is really sweet. Is that one also made by thiers issard? I thought Sheffield was a British steel? I wonder who started using jimping first, razors or knives?

  • @traderjoes Hey, yes, that one is also made by thiers issard. Sheffield steel is a name for british steel, but in this case, it's just embellishment I guess, the steel on the snakewood one is also the carbonsong 135 steel.
