As a heavy rocker, this music makes one appreciate the pure power of an orchestra. Would love to hear this live (am I getting old ? lo)

Thank you this has brought back lovely memories of my parents they also loved good music.

This was used as the theme music for a program on the BBC I believe the late forties. I and my dear late sister listned to this program religiously but it was always the music that brought us there.

Thank you for your posting...you loved your Dad so much...and still do...these lovely films will never die & remind us of the past when our parents struggled to live in a simpler, harsher but happier world! thanks again x

Brings back many memories. This film seemed to be shown regularly on a Sunday afternoon back in the late fifties early sixties.

Beautiful, and so are the mountain views in the video. I'm not sure, but I think I remember a vocal version of this - or was that part at the end of the film when the young composer's masterpiece is being performed? It was a very long time ago when I saw it.

thank you for posting this piece of music .you see watching this film with my mum is the last memory i have of her. that was in 1960 the next week she was taken back into hospital and i never saw her again. she was 30 and i was 8 . so again thank you from the bottom of my heart
Wonderful piece of music by Nino Rota. I remember the film as well. I think you will find that Denison was the name of the actor in the film; the character he played was called Richard Wilder.
Sorry if I am being pedantic; I did enjoy the video and the use of the music.
Great video

Thank you for correcting me.
Dad and I loved the music and the film, my post is more for memories than detail. Dad died in February.
I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to comment.

My father, born in England, was a self taught musician during the war. He had a band and in the years before he was unable to play anymore due to a stroke he played solo as a pianist and an organist at hotels, weddings etc. Whilst I was born during the baby boomer years our home was always filled with music and I will always remember seeing the small disc that had a picture on the front of a mountain I played it over and over again.
I have an mp3 version and it too reminds me of my father.
