Temporary worker organizations actually make good business sense because demand fluctuates dramatically in some industries, and paying workers to do nothing during demand slumps is counter-productive. A solution could be in the form of consortia of specialized groups that charge more money for wages in temporary employment conditions. If worker-owned, such temp businesses would eliminate middle-men & distribute their profits equitably.

As a seasoned Mechanical Engineer, I take issue with his statements about automation, such as CNC machining, being inefficient. Beyond moderate production volumes, it becomes increasingly highly efficient. The socio-economic challenge of automation is that of distributing profits equitably. Small-to-medium sized companies are fairly equitable for skilled labor, but large corporations are not. Maybe extra taxes on automated production is a good method to indirectly equalize incomes.

I was able to write for my university newspaper and I included issues like these and Parecon in some of my articles. It's a view that needs a stronger voice in media.

Listen to NC's lecture called 'Free market fantasies' (its on youtube) where he explains that the banks and companies that finance all these think tanks fulminating against the evils of the nanny state are going to bring down the economy and then get massively bailed out by the nanny state and then go back to lecturing us on the marvels of the free market!! What he describes in this lecture is just incredible, we watch it happen right now! give it a go

i can't express how relevant this is to what has happened recently in the Virginia mines. It's surreal how on point he is.
