@joeinparis Intriguing. I can't banish the horrible thought that she'd be immediately cast as the Siren in Prodigal Son! But I wonder what Balanchine might have choreographed on her. That might really have been something.

It is perfect technique, yes, but also incredible expressivity. No one dances like this anymore. I love that both of them can achieve such languid sexuality and then snap back into those fifth positions in moments of self possession.

The ballet is based on the Strindberg play of the same name, a famous work dealing with class, sexuality and power, in which an upper class woman has a sexual affair with a servant in her household.
