  • Isn't that Leonard T Zinn playing rythm guitar? To agree with Erotomaniac92, he's way cool indeed, and a great steelplayer in his own right.

  • Yes it is. Leonard is not only a great steeler, he is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.

  • I had the chance to see Joe for the first time this year and he is a great showman. He's really phenomenal. I think all the videos of him on you tube are great. Just wish I knew where I could get more of the videos.

  • There are no commercially produced videos of Joe's show. I will try and post a couple of more cuts soon. Maybe a comedy routine.

  • Excellent playing, but why would such a phenomenal player use a Sierra? Although their precision and quality is top shelf, they have no tone--he should be playing a push-pull, or a Zum, or something with some tone!

  • My reply to this would be. To each his own. That's why there are many brands to choose from. Just like automobile. Bill Ferguson

  • Both Joe & Leonard are wonderful human beings

  • Notice how so many people can't stand the possibility of their idol actually getting something wrong?

Whether or not you like the keyless Sierra, notice how even the great Joe Wright makes a mistake or two in this one. Nobody's perfect......

  • I use to work with this guy we traveled with trilly cole he called me the gonz a great player great guy good dancer not so hot on banjo Jerimiah

  • that old man playing the guitar is so cool!!

  • I actually have a recording that I made of Bill Stafford on a Sierra, And while Bills playing was superb, I just did not like the tone of the Sierra. Then again, I've NEVER heard a keyless guitar that I liked the sound of (Kline,Kay,Sierra) It has nothing to do with the pickups, there's just no resonance like you get with an ALUMINUM neck guitar. BTW I know it's hard to believe, but Dick Upright is my REAL name, not a stage name!

  • To dickupright, I've got a '67 push n pull, and while it is a great sounding guitar, the closest I've come to parting with it was after hearing a fellow named Bill Stafford play a Sierra, and it was fantastic! If you played a Sierra, and it had a "dead sound," then you might review your technique, ya think? I have to agree with Steelguitar1949, keep practicing. That Sierra is perfect for Joe and his style of playing....listen, learn, and ENJOY!

  • Joe Wright probably plays rock better than you do.

  • I bought a DVD from Joe at a steel festival a few years ago, it was pretty good although I'm not sure where else you could get one. Something tells me I saw it on his website too :)
