Finally, Indian Railways has realised the benefits of IT as it is all set to go high-tech with the launching of the Control Charting System or CCS to monitor and control the movement of all trains across the country. A trial run of system is being carried out in Madurai and Trichy divisions as a pilot project. Estimated to cost Rs 86 crores, this system has been designed by Centre for Railway Information Systems.

  • Last time when i traveled in Indian sleeper coaches, i was surprised to see GPS based station name LED board in side the coach. That was a nice feature introduced by the Indian railway. especially in the night you don't have to fear missing the station.
