Tom Corbett began on TV in Oct, 1950 and went on radio in 1952. It's competition in this field was Space Patrol. Frankie Thomas had been a veteran juvenile actor, appearing in "Tim Tyler's Luck" and as Nancy Drew's boyfriend.

This intro is dated 1953, and the show actually ran from October 1950 to June 1955, bouncing around between networks during television's infancy.
