The World Irish Dancing Championships 2011 - City West , Dublin

The top five dancers from Sunday 17th April Competitions were given invitations after they received their awards to dance for the president of I Ireland and here they are. (sorry the quality isn't great there were a lot of head to get around :L)

im dedicated to irish dancing but mum wont let me do it :L i won loads of trophies and medals bere then the school closed and i hoped she would let me join another but she said feis's were expensive with the dresses nd all :(

@missorla100 that's actually tragic :( I'm a danser my self and i have the same problem with the expense at feis's but tbh a nice class costume or dress for routines is way nicer, easier to dance in and a lot cheaper and if your that dedicated to dancing just do it for the fun and don't mind about competing it shudn't b about the sparkles and the glam it's what you can do with your feet, your passion and talent that counts :) don't give up on dancing just yet

I too danced for years and qualified for the Western Regional Oireachtas back in 2004....BUT I tore all the liagaments in my left ankle and was not well enough to go( this happened a week before the oireactas and at dance rehearsal)!! Luck was not on my side...I am now 25 and want to dance/compete again...parents want me to only do it for fun since I will be applying to med school in two years...still have that gorgeous solo dress in the closet that was never worn : (

@1999irishdancer just saying all these dancer are champions .. i no not world champions but they have won all irelands , all soctlands their regoinal and stuff so really these are the best your gonna get
