Sound's like you might have figured out how Deja Vu works to. Maybe when we sleep we astrally project subconsciously, see the probability of some future event. The information is stored subconsciously, and it can be days,weeks or years later. The event happens while we are awake, and we get a feeling that we've done or experienced that event before.

The Buddha learned the 4 noble truths through Astral Projection. He sat under the tree and "meditated" but then something happened and he was able to see his past lives. What happened? He Astral Projected and his consciousness entered what is known as the Akashic Records. It is not an actual physical place but rather a frequency that permeates in the Astral planes. If you focus your mind into receiving this you may not even have to leave your body to view your past lives.
