In this segment of our 57 Chevy Belair Super Sport buildup, this slide show-video features build details, modifications, and associated pics of the interior.
How do you design the interior for a designer 57 with a muscle car vibe? We wanted something modern but still use a few design elements from the stock 57 interior. Elegant but not overdone. Incorporate colors that would look great with the silver exterior, but not be overstated. We're think' in a "Supercharged" 57 needs a "Supercharged" sound system and a modern leather interior that focuses on creature comforts such as heated seats for cruising on cool nights. To give the interior more of a muscle car vibe, a center console and shifter were a no-brainer, and the design of the black inserts in the stock 57 seats was incorporated into the bucket seats. Instead of the drab single speaker sound system, an iphone/ipod controlled 4 speaker system was integrated into the "performance" enhanced interior. Other elements include, but not limited to;
A Flaming River tilt steering column, Lokar shifter with digital gear selection indicator, Vintage Air heat/AC climate control, Auto Meter Race car gauges, and more.
