  • This book helped by little brother face his demons and get help for his drug addiction. Thanks James.

  • Why was my comment removed? I asked a simple question. What is the difference between two men that lied, tricked people, and profited from their hoaxes? Why there is two totally opposite reactions to the same problem. Why is Oprah hunting down James Frey, but totally ignores Herman Rosenblat?

  • @McSquizzy722 who cares? the book cured people. oprah, being the "woman of change", just contradicted her main goal here. i don't know why people always need to find the cold truth behind everything. if people didn't obsess over his jail time and his criminal records, the book would be held in high critical acclaim still, with many people using the content as a means for escape. however, oprah made him look like a fool, and those people who sought salvation. horrible woman.

  • this was all somewhat pointless. did it matter if some aspects were not true? more to the point does it actually matter? it was a good book.

  • he should have just written it as a novel...

  • James Frey either has a great imagination or he fails to remember the exact details as a result of intoxication and so substitutes with something more interesting . It's a great read either way.

I would argue that politics and the world and finance are equally fictitious in terms of the validity of the facts they present. And nowhere near as interesting. James Frey for head of the IMF.

  • oprah is black

  • I'd like to write a memoir. But like many ex-addicts, I know I have problems with the truth and can barely keep my life story separate from stories I've told about myself. This dude learned the hard way that it is a mistake to sell your story to thousands of people under false pretenses. I hope he's doing OK, and I sure learned a lot from his mistakes. It sucks to get caught in a lie, and it really get sucks to get caught in a lie on Oprah.

  • I feel so sorry for james, oprah is an idiot to invite him to attack him infront of basically all people in america, it doesnt matter if she thought that he was informed that he was going to get ambushed, its still a really bad thing to do of oprah, just cause ur sitting in your chair looking fat and everyone loves you doesnt give you the right to humiliate james like that infront of america. Even if his book was a lie in some cases it helped alot of ppl and thats all that matters, thx james!

  • The book isn't even half as dishonest as the editing in this video.

  • wait wait wait i'm confused is harry potter based on true events? o and i'm only here because they mentioned this in it's always sunny in Philadelphia

  • Book is fabricated, o wow, so are 95% of books out there.
