Blog #7 - Don't judge a book by it's cover & Bully vs Fat Kid

Hey guys,

I felt the need to address a couple things today about the perception that most people have about fat/obese people.

It's easy to judge someone by just looking at the outter appearance, but too many times people "judge the book by it's cover", they have that "YUCK" look when they see someone who is morbidly obese, but do they know them? do they know their story? what if they're on a mission to lose weight and already have been changing? what if they have a medical problem that won't allow them to get into shape? what if emotionally they've been hit and couldn't shake it off?

I use to hate walking around stores when I was a little kid because I thought people were just looking at me and wondering "how did he get that big" or even worse they would have that wide open mouth look and wandering eyes that tell me that they're thinking of me in a way I don't want to be thought of.

Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Another thing is the "bully vs fat kid" video that I saw online, it definitely made me think about all those times I wanted to do the same thing because of something someone else said to me. It's easy to pick on people because of this and that, but every body has feelings and especially when you're younger...it hurts more. THIS NEEDS TO STOP!

Attention to all bullies:
If you need this to make yourself feel good about yourself, you're the one that has the problem and you need to stop diverting your feelings and attention to other people just to make yourself feel a little better.

Well...that's my little rant for today!
*sigh*

ive seen the video too, few weaks ago. at first i thought like it was justice. you know, the skinny kid was provoking and he got what he "deserved". but in the other hand; the skinny kid could get hurt too. so in the end, its been dumb situation all the way. it just proofs that violence causes another violence and then you see no point it that. i mean we are not supposed to kill each other, thats just stupid.
