  • I do agree that we shouldn't be forced to "go green" however I do think we should take advantage of the resources. Here in the western U.S. for example, we have A LOT of geothermal energy readilly available for us. I do think we should take advantage of that in the west. However in the east, nuclear energy might be a better option.

  • Excellent piece, Steven! Soooo sick of phonies. This whole "green" thing, global warming, regulations, and self-important false lovers of the earth, is nothing more than a power grab, a way to spend some time, and another way to make the lives of others more difficult.

  • @ArrogantAmerican333 As for poverty comparison I'll do what I please. You don't run this process.

  • @ArrogantAmerican333 Right you only misrepresented reality to try and make some political point. Then when you were caught you doubled down and refused to use the accurate numbers.

You also failed to mention the whole CIVIL WAR going on in India - kind of indicates dissatisfaction - right after I brought it up.

Granted your attempt to derail this by brining in India is pretty telling. When that fails will you shift to another country hoping I won't check it out?

  • @colddrake80

And in terms of whose standard of living is rising in India, the answer is simple: the poor. India used to have over 50% of its population below the poverty line, now only about 25% is (and poverty is defined differently in each country, so don't even think about comparing that to poverty in America). Similarly, India's literacy rate has grown about 25% from 1991 to 2005.

    And I did not lie.

  • @colddrake80

Why is the subsidized corn (that's questionably capitalist if its subsidized by the government) beating out the Mexican corn? Because its cheaper? If so then that means feeding yourself has become cheaper in Mexico. I'm not sure what a Mexican farmer's profit margin was but if its anything like the businesses on the Fortune 500 (under 5% on average) than its possible it saved more money for the average citizen than was lost in profits.

  • @ArrogantAmerican333 Well, I don't read Spanish so that document doesn't help out much. Though I did see the peso count which matches the English language sources I've seen. It's still pesos per DAY so I don't see your point.

Also you never did get around to honestly admitting you lied. You really should. A "mistake" that blatant is a little hard to believe. Particularly in light of your other posts and right extremist politics.

  • @ArrogantAmerican333 With NAFTA Mexico opened its markets to subsidised US food stuffs. This drove a LOT of people off the land and into factories.

As for the tremendous rise in standards of living in India that depends on who you're talking about. China has seen big jumps too but guess what their was a and is a huge amount of suffering going with it.

In India they "love" capitalism so much Maoist rebels control about a third of country.

  • @colddrake80

(cont.) was originally at hand (obviously, or they wouldn't chose to work there and would simply get a job at a local business). India barred it doors to foreign corporations, to this "integration" you speak of, and suffered tremendously for it. Yet the fact that they have now opened their doors to foreign corporations has caused a TREMENDOUS rise in standard of living there.

  • @colddrake80

Here are the statistics you snotty little prick. Google "Vigentes a partir del 1 de enero de 2012, establecidos por la Comisión Nacional de los Salarios Mínimos mediante resolución publicada en el Diario Oficial de la Federación del 19 de diciembre de 2011."

And how does that "integration" make capitalism responsible for those people's suffering? There is very little outsourcing to Mexico, but when there is all it does is given Mexicans a better job than what (cont.)

  • @ArrogantAmerican333 You just can't stop lying. It is $4.60 per day not 5.45. Even after I've corrected your painfully easy to debunk - and totally false - assertion you still can't bring yourself to tell to the truth.

I said the were part of an integrated economic system. Each country is expected to provide a different element. Mexico provides cheap labor and the US provides the customer base. That is a simplification of course but good enough for our purposes.

  • Going green is gay! I purposely try to avoid businesses that say they're doing _ "in an effort to go green". I even call some of them up and tell them I'm not going to patronize them because of how gay it is for them to say they're going green just to sound "trendy".
