http://www.historicaltruth.tk Great trees grow from the smallest seeds;a terraced garden, from a pile of earth, and a journey of a thousand miles begins by taking the initial step.
Great acts are made up of small deeds.
The skilful masters (of the Tao) in old times, with a subtle and exquisite penetration, comprehended its mysteries, and were deep (also) so as to elude men's knowledge. As they were thus beyond men's knowledge, I will make an effort to describe of what sort they appeared to be.
He who loves the world as his body may be entrusted with the empire.
For the wise man looks into space and he knows there is no limited dimensions
Without stirring abroad, one can know the whole world; Without looking out of the window one can see the way of heaven.
If you don't realize the source, you stumble in confusion and sorrow. When you realize where you came from, you naturally become tolerant, disinterested, amused, kindhearted as a grandmother, dignified as a king. Immersed in the wonder of the Tao, you can deal with whatever life brings you, and when death comes, you are ready.
Empty your mind of all thoughts. Let your heart be at peace. Watch the turmoil of beings, but contemplate their return.
Each separate being in the universe returns to the common source. Returning to the source is serenity.
(Conceived of as) having no name, it is the Originator of heaven and earth; (conceived of as) having a name, it is the Mother of all things.
When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.
In dwelling, be close to the land. In meditation, go deep in the heart. In dealing with others, be gentle and kind.,In speech, be true. In ruling, be just. In business, be competent. In action, watch the timing.
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them -- that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
Muddy water, left alone, becomes clear.
For the wise man looks into space and he knows there is no limited dimensions
There is no calamity greater than lavish desires. There is no greater guilt than discontentment. And there is not greater disaster than greed.
A scholar who cherishes the love of comfort is not fit to be deemed a scholar
He who conquers others is strong; he who conquers himself is mighty.
The supreme excellence is not to win a hundred victories in a hundred battles. The supreme excellence is to subdue the armies of your enemies without even having to fight them.
The best soldier does not attack. The superior fighter succeeds without violence. The greatest conqueror wins without struggle. The most successful manager leads without dictating. This is intelligent non aggressiveness. This is called the mastery of men.
He who knows others is wise, He who knows himself is enlightened.
Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.
The words of truth are always paradoxical.
All difficult things have their origin in that which is easy, and great things in that which is small.
To know yet to think that one does not know is best; Not to know yet to think that one knows will lead to difficulty.
Having given all he had, He then is very rich indeed.
If you would take, you must first give, this is the beginning of intelligence.
He who obtains has little. He who scatters has much
Nothing in the world is more flexible and yielding than water. Yet when it attacks the firm and the strong, none can withstand it, because they have no way to change it. So the flexible overcome the adamant, the yielding overcome the forceful. Everyone knows this, but no one can do it
To be worn out is to be renewed.
The more laws and order are made prominent, The more thieves and robbers there will be.
The Way of Heaven is to benefit others and not to injure. The Way of the sage is to act but not to compete.
To see things in the seed, that is genius.
See simplicity in the complicated.
Achieve greatness in little things.
A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.
To realize that you do not understand is a virtue; Not to realize that you do not understand is a defect.
To lead people walk behind them.
If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.
Violence, even well intentioned, always rebounds upon oneself.
How could man rejoice in victory and delight in the slaughter of men?
At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.
Respond intelligently even to unintelligent treatment. Manifest plainness, Embrace simplicity, Reduce selfishness, Have few desires.
When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.
