  • You know, Hammond was always billed as a "one hit wonder" because of "It never rains in southern California". I had no idea he had other hits such as this. If only classic/oldie radio stations would play less known hits such as this they would pull in more listeners. There is nothing worse than tuning into a radio station and hearing a song that has been played over and over and over and over.........

  • Albert is simply great !

  • How could I forget such a lovely guy, great voice and smile!

  • Those who claim that Albert Hammond to be a one-hit wonder should get their facts straight. Let's see now : with hits like When I'm gone, The Peacemaker, and It Never Rains in California, as well as a tender and beautiful composition like When I Need You sung by Leo Sayer, Hammond hardly qualifies as a ... one-hit wonder. Far from it, he is talent personified.

  • TIME is running up.

LIFETIME that is, whether you are to realize or not yet and still "knowing-it-all-so-much"

    Anyway.

    TIME TELLS. Nobody else.

  • Another great tune from Albert!!

  • @amicasuper +1 :P

  • ILOvE this guy!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jcb1972 i dont think albert was classed as a one hit wonder as i knew him for his chart hit free electric band . in fact my first ever record i bought , whilst on school trip to wales

  • @MattHatter - google "auditorium testing for radio stations" and you'll see how it works.

  • @MattHatter - a lot of oldies stations in the UK work on a play list of only about 300 songs, but they still play even safer by having a higher rotation list of the few that receive the strongest reaction. That's why in the UK you'll hear "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations (a British soul band from the late 1960s) more than most other songs. However, "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison NEVER entered the UK charts, but is high rotation as auditorium testing shows it to be very popular.

  • @Enerjee Absolutely PATHETIC and SAD! So THAT'S why radio stations have such lousy playlists. Here in Southern California, our two oldies stations are KOLA and K-EARTH and every other song is "My Girl" by The Temptations. Now don't get me wrong, The Temptations were a great Motown group but you know what I mean. Seems it's more important to put everybody in one category and keep them like mindless sheep instead of exposing people to the great OTHER great music some of these artists did.
