In this episode, Golden Fuel Systems tests the durability of their new Trekker Tanks to the conventional Aluminum tanks produced by many of their competitors.
Very observant. Out of our entire staff and the 12K viewers of this video, you're the first to notice that. We're almost certain that we never placed a bold there because if there had been, it would have been nearly impossible for the bolt to unthread from the heat exchanger. After the test, that exact tank went directly into the Jetta which is featured in a few of our other videos and is still going strong. Very observant!
Well, I'm glad that you crew are "almost" certain because the black etched in outline of a washer that once was there is easily seen indicating that there must have been a bolt holding a washer in order to create those marks.
I'm glad you're glad :) A new video response showing the missing bolt has been posted.
This tank was used in our shop for weeks to test Several bolts and washers before releasing the trekkers to the public. The washer mark on the heat exchanger came from a prior washer and bolt that had been installed. The "missing bolt" was never put in place but with only one bolt missing and a very good gasket in place, no water leaked from the Trekker. This goes even further to show their durability.
Nice Demo but at 05:36 it looks like one of the heat exchanger allen bolts is missing.

But what about puncture resistance on both tanks?

Cross linked Poly is going to have far better durability to puncture wounds than aluminum.
