Julia Sweeney - Letting Go of God...

This is a repost of a small clip from "The God Monologue," the working title of a soon-to-be-released film version which has been retitled "Letting Go of God." It's a beautiful loss of faith story which chronicles one woman's religious journey from a good little Catholic girl to a realization that there's little (good) evidence for the existence of god.

This video taped version was the first preformance before an audience, and was presented to the Skeptics Society (www.Skeptic.com).

I am curious...What created matter? What organized this matter in a fashion that created nature? Life? the birds with hollow bones that can fly...wonder who taught them to fly? wonder how the fish could breath oxygen threw water..Who taught the fish to swim? How taught us or the other animals to hear? or to see? to touch? Most importantly--who taught us how to love? Even a newborn knows how to love! How can the passionate sensation of love be evolutionary in origin? if so-what created evolution?

LOL - this is from back when she was still "workshopping" the story. there are many sublte differences between this and the current/final version we all know and love. of course the overall broadstrokes are the same....i do find the little changes she made interesting....and personally, i think these changes makes it a tighter/better story, without taking away from the theme.
