  • ooooo. well all of the unibodies are still in warranty because they only came out 2 months ago.... GO TO THE APPLE STORE AND SEND IT AWAY TO APPLE.... they will fix it even if you dont have apple care because it comes with a 3 month warranty

  • Already tried that. They denied doing anything about it, due to the fact I couldn't replicate the problem in-store.

  • Well, it won't be repaired as the problem didn't replicate itself in store! So it's a mystery. I just hope it doesn't crop up again =[

  • Ah yeah, that sucks. Unfortunately mine is out of the 14 day return policy, so I've gotta suck it up and have it repaired :(

  • Guys, lots of laptos have this problem, something just got stuck into the fan, or the fa is slightly out of place. Once your warranty runs out (or even before if Apple refuses to fix it), open the macbook and clean the fans!

  • My 13' mid 2010 model was making the same noise!

  • Apple: We make sure our stuff breaks fast and still looks pretty.

  • simply open it and clean it....freaking easy...takes 5min

  • @RationalTheism you used smcFanControl?????????

  • you used smcFanControl????????

  • that sounds more like the hard drive, not the fan

  • Yup I had to same problem. You have a defective fan. It took 6 Weeks till they shipped me a new one =.="

  • same problem here.. ARGG!!!

  • If you ever have fan noise make sure you are not running processes you don't need. I had an issue where BBedit would run the processor at full speed, causing the fans to run, but it's software and not hardware.
