@maverickdelacruz73 No don't hate, just quite disappointed when buying/hearing Revelation the "note for note" rerecordings. That's an insult to Steve Perry who would never stoop to insult s/one he calls his"idol." Pineda even acknowledged that being. Don't give me his sob story. The ends don't always justify the means. Outright copying others style/sound is beyond my appreciation of true artistry. Seemingly he spent life learning how to do others so now when trying to do self (Eclipse flop).

@maverickdelacruz73 I got the "link." In 2008 #20 Top 25 tours with $35m (52 shows) and 2011 #18 on Top 25 tours (73 shows) $39m, all package deals with equal artist. Should not be on that top 25 list b/c artist below made comparable money and didn't have to hog the road to do it. People bought Revelation in 2008 w/karaoke rerecordings, just not interested in anything else from Journey. Pineda didnot write on City of Hope about him/his home? Stuck his name on couple of songs for cred.

@Brokered5 It seems that you hate AP so much. He is a talented tenor singer who can cover a wide range of genre, earning a decent living by singing to feed his family. He didnt impose himself to be with journey. He was discovered and offered the job and gratefully accepted. If you were in his shoe, woudnt you accept? Now that he is millionaire, he is giving it back to poor children in his country-giving free education to street kids, medical and dental to the poor and needy. GOD bless him

@Brokered5 Tenor is a MUST, Journey's signature sound is tenor. SP's tenor's voice that can reach stratospher catapulted them to supremacy. Only a true tenor can sing journey's dirty dozen night after night. Maybe you right, eclipse CD may be a flop but not "eclipse tour". I can give you link that eclipse tour was among the top 20 in terms of attendance and they earned millions. Heck, who buys CD nowadays? You can get pirated copy on internet. BTW AP can write.

@maverickdelacruz73 Would prefer a true artist that can do anything-sing/WRITE/play. Why go w/tenor voice(Must)? Why not a Van Halen/Hagar, Genesis, etc. musically successful w/o going karaoke w/same sound (Can't?). A/Lambert singing w/Queen was great, not sounding Freddie. If singer only accepted emulating hit songs, probably won't "move on to other direction" (Eclipse flop). If own Jrny w/go w/known artist who could sing, write and sell it. No respect for designed karaoke.

@Brokered5 well said, say example you own journey, and you have to really find a singer and it should be a "tenor" voice that can emulate anything and move on to other direction. Which will you preffer? A tenor voice that can do anything? or the other way around? And bear in mind that people go to concert to hear the dirty dozen, giving justice to legacy sound. Pls do not consider AP as we are talking about "tenor" voice, may it be an elephant or gorilla singing. So which do you preffer?
Steve Augeri's version is great but Arnel made it sound more like a Journey song. :-)

I've now listened multiple times to Steve A.'s version, Deen's and Arnel. Of the three, Arnel's voice is more suited to this song. A rock song always sounds better with a strong big voice like Arnel's.
Thanks for the vid.
