My mom is getting this done tomorrow morning. I am worried. I hope the nodules are benign.

Had this done 3hrs ago and it really felt a lot less uncomfortable than the video appears. But then I read some comments and apparently it can go either way.. for me there was very little pain, just a slight pressure and only the 3rd of the 3 done registered pain at all but again, very little. Took the band aid off on the way home, no bruising and feels ok now. Was ultrasound aided, took a few minutes, I spoke between each needle, my nodule is 1cm and can't be felt by hand.

Having my first-ever biopsy tomorrow. I'm pretty nervous, but more because, you know, they're looking for cancer, than because of the needles! Luckily my husband's coming with me, but he gets queasy around needles, so I may end up having to comfort him, haha! Thanks for sharing your experience with us; you're a champ!

I will be getting my first biopsy on Tuesday and I'm nervous...It looks like it didn't even hurt you..
I'm having this done Monday...I've had to wait 2 months for my appt because of the holidays so I'm (almost!!) over being nervous about it because I'm so ready to get it over with. More than anything I'm nervous that they'll say it's nothing to worry about..I used to sing and now I can barely TALK but they said nodules this small (1.7cm) wouldn't typically cause symptoms. Did you have any symptoms before they discovered your nodule(s)?

@kristen52888 Hi there!
I'm sorry you're having trouble talking and singing. I used to sing too. My nodule was discovered when I was diagnosed with thyroid disease: Hashimoto's thyroiditis -- a pretty common form of hypothyroidism. The nodule doesn't have anything to do with it. So I did have some symptoms, but they were related more to the thyroid disease. I wish you luck with your upcoming biopsy. Please let me know how it goes!

@jen90mr It'll be all right!
Tell your doctor how nervous you are. Ask him to make sure he doesn't flash the needle in your face, but as a precaution, just close your eyes. Deep breaths. Remind yourself that it will be over very quickly. Think about how happy you'll be when it's done. I suffer from anxiety disorder/panic attacks, so if I can get through it, so can you. Please check back and let us know how you did. Good luck!

@96guitargirl
My doctor does numb the area, which helps. I'm not sure that every doctor does so. Your cousin could request that the doctor use lidocaine (numbing agent), just in case. Good luck to her!
