The Rook Week series is an annual video produced based on the arrival of the "Rook" class at Norwich University every fall.

The University

Private, combining military tradition of nearly two centuries and a broad range of traditional undergraduate degree programs.

Founded

1819 by Captain Alden Partridge, as the first private military college in the United States and the birthplace of the nation's Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program.

Location

In the rugged Green Mountains of Vermont, one of the nation's most spectacular natural areas, offering a vast array of outdoor opportunities year-round.

Northfield, Vermont

A charming, friendly community located 20 minutes from Montpelier, Vermont's state capital; one hour from Burlington, Vermont's largest city; and three hours from Montreal and Boston, two of North America's most cultured cities.

Students

Approximately 2,100 cadets, civilian residents, and commuters attend Norwich University, along with about 1,200 graduate students.

Demographics

Students from over 45 states and 20 foreign countries.

Faculty

112 full time—72 percent hold terminal degrees.

Academic Programs

30 bachelor's degrees, plus a teacher licensure program, and four ROTC programs.

NCAA Division III, 20 varsity sports, a variety of club sports, and unlimited intramural sports opportunities.
