A derivative of GIGABYTEs highly acclaimed 3x USB Power feature, On/Off Charge technology allows iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices to draw more current from GIGABYTE motherboard USB ports than standard USB ports allow, with the added benefit that the PC can be on, in standby mode or even off.

Many mobile devices can be charged via a desktop PCs USB ports as long as the system is connected to an active power source, however this is not the case with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. GIGABYTE On/Off Charge comes in two flavors: a backwards compatible On/Off Charge driver* that was made available on March 10th, 2010, from the official GIGABYTE utility web page, and an On/Off Charge front panel connector that will be available on selected soon-to-be-released GIGABYTE motherboards. The On/Off Charge front panel connector features a special controller combined with the On/Off Charge driver that allows the computer to detect the current required by iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch products. The device dictates the current it draws, so there is no threat of overcharging from GIGABYTE 3x USB Power technology. Tests conducted in the GIGABYTE labs have shown various charging speeds with an average charging time saving of around 40%.

@ECEXCURSION I have normal MB without any of this crap (3x power or on-off charge), it is also gigabyte, and I can do all of mentioned (even connect when PC is off) with my HTC without any problems.

I have Gigabyte H55M-UD2H with 3xPower USB feature, but I had to enable ErP support in BIOS (using less than 1W of power, default=disabled, so it can deliver power under 1W even when the PC is off), because my Razer DeathAdder (5VDC,150mA=0.75A) and my Roccat Kave headphones still lit. So I think now I ´m not able to deliver any power to USB ports, so even if I have 3Xmore power via USB I ´m not able to charge anything. And also one thing that piss me of is that this only support Apple devices.

How is the USB still providing power if the PC (vis-a-vis the PSU), is switched off?! Where is the power coming from? Or does the PSU turn back on or something?
