'Love Letters' was written by Edward Heyman and Victor Young, who both also collaborated on great songs like "Body & Soul", "My Foolish Heart", "When I Fall in Love" and "Stella by Starlight". 'Love Letters' was a minor hit in 1945 for an artist by the name of Dick Haymes but it was not until 1962 that it was a great success for the singer Ketty Lester, classically trained, but became interested in Gospel, Soul and R & B . Other artists who have covered this song include Elvis Presley, Elton John, Alison Moyet and the pianist Keith Jarrett - all of which proves that a truly great song transcends genre.
