On April 20th 1999, the United States was rocked by a horrific school shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. In the years to follow, many forms of media began to sort out the events of that day. Books were published. Films were produced. Then in 2005, one Colorado man created an amateur videogame exploring the actions and possible motives of the two shooters. Offered as a free online computer game, it was downloaded over half a million times, became immensely controversial and brought a pressing question to the public discussion: we can read Columbine, we can watch Columbine, but can we play Columbine? Moreover, should we?

  • Actually, they did. The fact that they did caused the media to blame manson... which is why he is in the docco "bowling for columbine."

The media also focused on the fact they played doom... maybe you should research more. Yeesh.

  • This game is so fuckin HARD

  • DOOM? Shit, they'd never top the score boards.

  • Trained on DOOM? :D Allow me to laugh, I seriously don't think that WASD + clicking gives you any kind of motivation nor experience to go and shoot kids.

  • part 3 of 4 taught/learned how to deal with anger in a healthy manner you may look at what is shown to you in things like tv/video games and think thats acceptable because you were angry or this or that.. honestly it doesn't matter. But to sit and say that you have no influence on what you give to the public is a crock of shit. And while I don't think that these people can be blamed directly I do believe that watching violence is a huge cause of more violence. Statics say if you watched

  • part 4 of 4. domestic violence while you were young that you are extremely likely to end up and stay in that same type of relationship when you get older, same statics for those who have gone through rape.. if you've gone through these things once you are much more likely to end up going through it again. So if these two things have been proved relating to violence- why do people still act like playing something violent won't lead to more violence. To me this makes no sense.
