@dollyknockers What's wrong with them living in safety and comfort. Have you considered that these animals LIKE being pampered and well fed? I can see what people dislike about having lots of tourists watching the animals around the cages, but they're WELL taken care of.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed my visits to zoos over the years and seeing animals up close that I would have previously only seen in books. But with excellent naturalist films from National Geographic, BBC, Discovery etc we can see all these wonderful animals in their natural surroundings. With ever faster Internet connections we can view live footage over webcams placed in their natural habitat and get our own personal experience of watching them. It really is time
