Landing is the easy part. At MLW, San Diego has enough runway to stop. Taking off is the issue. They have to go light on gas in order to get out, and plan a tech stop somewhere to refuel.

Wow. I've flown in and out of KSAN a few times. I'm honestly shocked heavies like a 747 and 777 would even attempt landing there.

@chendrik It's actually not that bad when I watched them land and take off. NWA 747 landed there a few times...once was to charter the Chargers back from Europe.

How? I live in san and thsat is like not possible.. Tje bigget plane is 767-300 hawaiian well ans the 747 was 200F probably,,

LOL...it's possible, matter in fact I've hear of the Antinov landing here in SAN. But that was a while back. But the 747-400F did land here and I was part of the team to handle the cargo that came off the plane and worked with the load master as well.
